Okay, so another kind of lame picture. This one was less because I didn’t know what to post, though, and more because this is where I’m working right now (and yes, I realize that I need to tidy up — that’s my project for Sunday and probably Monday after/around work, haha). I’ve got “my” personal laptop and “my” work laptop, and the work laptop’s got a keyboard and mouse — I really also eventually need a monitor for it, but I also need things like a desk. =b
This is the end of my first week working from home (although, to be more accurate, I only actually worked from home yesterday and today). It’s… a little ridiculous, in terms of perks. I woke up at 9:30 today, worked ‘til 2, took my “half hour lunch break” until about 4:30, and then picked up where I left off. And I was watching Glee for a good portion of it, lmao. Rewatching the older episodes, there’s been enough character ‘devlopment’ that has happened that really it’s more like they’re trying to retcon things — Sue’s nice, Emma has something resembling a spine, Finn’s WAY too stupid to walk and breathe at the same time (let alone sing), Mercedes is blacker than most of the people from my high school tried to be, and Kurt called a song ‘gay’.
Just to name a few differences.
Also, I feel sorry for Terri this time through. I mean, she still should have a] told the truth in the first place or b] fixed that mistake at a later date, but I can understand her reasoning without really having to stretch too far. =/
(And yes, this has turned into a blog of my thoughts/day as well as pictures. =b)
I… I will admit that to some extent, this was me going “OH CRAP I HAVE NOT TAKEN A PICTURE TODAY”. It’s my living room, with my laptop, FF XIII, and Mike’s monitor contrasting with the carpet. It… it looked nice? ;; I dunno. I was mostly trying to think of something to snap so that I wouldn’t miss a day. Sad.
I promise to try for something better tomorrow! D:
This is taken from my parents’ baptism yesterday. =] It was kind of amusing, seeing as the four people who went for them were a] the only other white people in the church, and b] non-Christians. XD
This isn’t the best picture in the world, but it was taken while the church was praying for them (you can see them both up at the front, if you look, haha). I wanted to try to capture the energy that was going through the church. (I swear, you could practically feel it.)
BAG IS UNSURE HOW TO REACT TO THIS SITUATION
…okay, so this is Tuesday’s, haha. I’ve been caught up in all the hubbub. =b This is my work-laptop-bag, which I took out of teh packaging for the first time on Tuesday because it was the first time I brought home my work laptop… because I started working form home for the first time yesterday! =O
(Tuesday after work was consumed by me going over to Ren’s for Rock Band and Glee. 8D)
(Also, first time I’ve just not bothered with GIMP. =D)
So… both of these were taking in front of IKEA, haha. Ren and I went to Wal-Mart (I didn’t get anything, he got a bed skirt) and then IKEA (…uh, I got a cutlery-separating thing, he got a clay pot? We spent a combined $5 or so haha) after work. It was fun (there is SO MUCH stuff at IKEA that I want… I could easily blow $5k there if I had it), but I am so tired after walking for like an hour and a half around the store, haha.
Anyway, these were taken from… pretty close to the exact same spot, haha. I took the one of IKEA, and then turned and saw the shadows. =D
Today, I went down to Exhibition place. I got there at 5:05am — and really should have been there about half an hour earlier. The bus was about 40 minutes late, so I waited about an hour. But I’m not going to rant about that here, haha.
I went down to volunteer at the Ride for Heart that the Heart and Stroke Foundation does every year — since a] my uncle passed away last month due to a stroke, and b] my father’s had heart/stroke problems throughout the past ten years or so, but c] I don’t have a bicycle, I really wanted to participate but had no way of actually doing so. So instead, I spent six hours (from 6-12) standing in front of a door greeting people (and making sure they were in the right place and not just trying to sneak in to the area with free food). My smiling muscles hurt by about 10. D:
Anyway, this wasn’t the picture that I should have snapped today - I was on an old-school (like, from 1951!) streetcar going back. (They let me on for free ‘cause I went up to them and asked if they knew where I could get change for a $20, and I was wearing my bright red VOLUNTEER t-shirt! :D) It was a little unreal, but I was exhausted to the point where walking was a bit of a challenge, so turning around and snapping a photo was pretty much out of the question. Apparently it’s run on summer Sundays on that route (the 509 Harbourfront from Union to Exhibition), which is good to know.
Anyway, this picture was taken at about 4 in the morning, on the southwest corner of Bathurst and Finch, trying to amuse myself (it didn’t work) by being all artistic (it didn’t work) so I wouldn’t get TOO angry at the bus driver (also didn’t work). I also managed to effectively creep out the other people in the shelter, haha.
Day 6 - I’m finally current!
Okay, so this is going to need a little bit of explanation, lmao. A couple days ago, my friend mentioned that they had found a pregnancy test box in their bathroom. It was a little worrying, but once it was confirmed that no one was pregnant, my mind started trying to figure out how to make this funnier than it already was (which wasn’t really all that funny).
So, this is now in my bathroom - the bathroom shared by two guys. My roommate will be home somewhere around midnight, probably very tired, and he might not even notice this tonight. Eventually, though, he’s bound to ask me, and I’m fully planning on just saying “Oh, don’t worry about it, I got everything straightened out” until he’s starting to actually get annoyed/irritated.
I love random harmless pranks. Especially when those pranks are not only free, but give me ideas for a post! =D
Ghost bikes - when someone is killed while biking (usually by being hit by a car), a lot of the time their family/friends take a bike, paint it white, and it serves as a combination shrine / reminder to drivers to watch for cyclists.
But they really, really creep me out. :< I mean, seriously - I have yet to find something that creeps me out quite as much as these do, on a daily basis and without anyone trying to make it worse. *shudders*
Also, this is the street corner (Keele/Finch) where I wait for the bus to get to work. And my closest major intersection. =b
(I played around with GIMP a lot more in this one - the last two were mostly just upping contrast a bit to bring out what I wanted to, but this one I wanted to have a certain feel to it. I figure that, so long as I’m posting the original pictures as well, I can play around a bit in my favourite Photoshop clone. :D)
I’m going to be posting Day 006 soon, as well! And will try my best to go back to posting them one at a time, I promise. ;;
Day 4! Posted on Day 6. Derp derp derp. (That reminds me - I still need to figure out what my picture for the day will be!)
This was day two of the intense storm we had this week. I actually need a new umbrella because of this storm - the about-half-hour that I was out in the rain, over the course of the two days, saw the rain literally pound a hole through the seam of my umbrella. I’d try to fix it myself, but I know from experience that I’m not the best at sewing, so yeeah. Until I get better at that, I think I’ll either get someone else to do it (can you even do that for umbrellas?) or just buy a new one. Seems… drier.
Look for Day 5 later today - and (hopefully) day 6 as well! I’m gonna go take my Day 6 picture right now, and then go do dishes and clean a bit before posting them.
- Drew
Day Three! I realize that the post is quite late, but I promise that the pictures were, in fact, taken on the days in question, haha. I just have been getting home from work and doing errands, or doing about an hour of cool-down hanging out and then going to bed. Sigh.
Okay, so this is the largest fail!sign I’ve seen in a while, and it nags at me a bit every time I go past it (meaning twice a day, since this is the driveway to my workplace)! If you’ll notice, not once in ‘Kleinburg’ spelled correctly. Most of my co-workers seem to think that this is how it’s spelled, as a result. *sighs*
This was also Wednesday, and if you’ll look you can see the storm brewing in the sky. This was taken in the morning, on my way into work — before the storm swept in.
My Day 4 post will be in a couple minutes - sorry about flooding your feeds~! I’ll try to be better about posting daily and not just taking pictures daily, derp derp.
